THANK YOU ARROWHEAD ELEMENTARY STAFF

Thank You Arrowhead Elementary

From the top down, Arrowhead is an impressive school. It is very well run as we have first hand knowledge. We've intimately come to know this to be true while working side-by-side with them as we both support our community and their families.

The most accurate way to evaluate an organization is how they handle adversity; how they handle situations when things don't go exactly as they should. We've had a few opportunities to work through situations such as those and through them, both the league and AES became even more dedicated to one another.

While working together over the past year and a half, we offer high compliments to all people who make AES special; Mrs. Garrett, Mrs. VonMosh, AES's PTA, the office staff (Carolyn, Jannie, etc...). I can go on and on, but you get the point.

Thanks ARROWHEAD ELEMENTARY again... for helping bring our community together. You offer more than a venue. You have made the league feel as if you are our partner in supporting our community and their families, no matter if they have children attending the school or not.

WE APPRECIATE YOU. THANK YOU for another great year. As June will be our last meeting this school year, we'll see you again in September.

Planning Commission Subcommittee Seeks Public Input on Preservation Initiative

Later this year, City Council will consider the development of a program that would address the preservation, renewal and enhancement of the city's existing housing and neighborhoods. To assist in their consideration, the Planning Commission Subcommittee on Preservation (Preservation Subcommittee) is currently developing a set of recommendations, which will be presented to City Council and help determine the direction of this initiative.

The Preservation Subcommittee believes that public involvement is a key part of the planning process and vital to its success. Therefore, we invite you to review the Draft Neighborhood Preservation Policy Report, which can be found on the Preservation Subcommittee's web page. The subcommittee's webpage can be accessed from the Department of Housing and Neighborhood Preservation's web site, www.vbgov.com/housing, under the "Housing Initiatives" section, as "Preservation Initiative." There you can access information about the subcommittee, such as its membership, meeting schedules, agendas and notes, and a copy of the Draft Neighborhood Preservation Policy Report. Remember to check the web page often as it is continually updated with the progress of the subcommittee's work.

As you review the Draft Neighborhood Preservation Policy Report, we ask that you please keep the following questions in mind:

Are these the right goals?
Is this the right direction?
How else can we address neighborhood preservation?

The Preservation Subcommittee values input on these recommendations and encourages you to share your feedback by contacting Lanitha Hudson , the coordinator of the Preservation Initiative at lhudson@vbgov.com or by calling 385-5734. You can also contact any member of the Preservation Subcommittee to share your feedback. The Membership list is located under “Related Documents” on the right of the Preservation Initiative webpage.

Thank you for your interest in the Preservation Initiative. We look forward to hearing your feedback.

The YAHOO GROUPS sign up has been changed and relocated to a higher position to be easily seen when logging on to the league's website. This is a very valuable tool for our members as the league's YAHOO Group has a calendar where important dates are listed. Most useful, is if you sign up for this service you will receive email reminders automatically. This is a tool used by the Boy Scouts and has proven to be very successful communication tool when utilized.
