POLICE SEEK IDENTIFICATION OF BANK ROBBER

On Monday, December 1, 2008, at approximately 12:07 p.m., a man walked into the BB&T Bank located in the 5200 block of Princess Anne Rd., Virginia Beach, carrying a plastic shopping bag. The suspect approached the teller and displayed a handgun, demanding money. The teller complied and placed an undisclosed amount of money in the suspect’s bag. He fled on foot toward the Dollar General Store. It is unknown if the suspect had a vehicle nearby.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’8”-5’9” tall, weighing 150-170lbs. He was last seen wearing a black ski mask, black hooded sweatshirt, black gloves, and white sneakers. He was carrying a black handgun.

Anyone with information about this crime is encouraged to call the Virginia Beach Crime Solvers Office at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Callers remain anonymous and are eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $1,000 if their information leads to an arrest.

Surveillance photos are available of the suspect.

This case remains under investigation by the Department’s Robbery Squad with Detective Justin Cole as the lead investigator.
