• After VA TECH massacre, consideration for initiating action to mandate tuck policy in middle and high schools
• Disaster relief organization to discuss emergency preparedness. Many disaster situations will be discussed. With hurricane season fast approaching, this is a CAN'T MISS.
• Communication avenues - possible motion to vote on issue
• Visiting civic league president to discuss a major issue and looks for our support
• Wayne Troester to submit the Treasury report as well as offer information about a vote held by the Council of Civic Organizations to reduce taxes
• Ginny Passaris to discuss crime stats, NHW and the upcoming Safety Fair
• Debbie Blackledge to present Real estate transactions in our area.

Salvation Army is unable to pick up on Monday

Salvation Army was contacted weeks ago regarding Saturday's neighborhood yard sale. At that time, the names of the neighborhoods offering donations were shared and we were instructed to call the day before the yard sale with an updated list of actual addresses. However Friday AM, when submitting a list of all homes that were to donate, we were told their trucks are already booked and they were unable to pick up.

If you would like to schedule a pick up on a date convenient for you, please call 1-800-95-TRUCK or you may bring it to any thrift store of your choice.

May 5th Community Yard Sale

Saturday, May 5th, 8-4 PM (RAIN DATE 5/12)
Don’t forget to go up in your attic or look through your closets. Bring out those items that have not been used or seen in months. Have fun making money while clearing out your house. Let us know how you did during our meeting May 8th from 7-9 at Point O’ View Elementary. We wish you good luck and hope to hear about your success at our next league meeting.

We are advertising this yard sale for an entire week in the Virginian-Pilot and other online sources. Certainly, if you would like to place directional signs through out the neighborhood, feel free to do so. The more this event is advertised, the better.
