Friday, October 26th we took the opportunity to introduce ourselves as a league to our new 4th Precinct Captain, Captain Ray Greenwood. We outlined some specifics on the types of crimes our neighborhood is experiencing.
Monday, he already took action. The information was forwarded to his evening and midnight sergeants, who will have officers in that zone to patrol the area on a frequent basis. Additionally, no trespassing signs have been put up at our parks so that if there are violators entering the park after dark, they may be more easily prosecuted.
We proudly serve all residents of Arrowhead, Carolanne Farm, Carolanne Point, Huntington, Huntington Estates and Plantation Cove neighborhoods. We welcome and encourage all residents (renters and owners) to be engaged in our communities. It's your neighborhood and you have a guaranteed place allowing you and your family to be an active part of it. :0)

Car break-in is foiled by Police - more suspicious activity
A neighbor wrote in yesterday...
- We live on Gainsborough near the entrance to the park. My neighbor across the street asked me if the police rang my bell at 1am and they did not. She had come home and saw our van door wide open and the interior lights on. We wondered about this as the battery was dead the next morning but the doors were shut. The neighbor said that the police looked around and didn't see anyone and shut the van door, but they never rang our bell. Anyway, someone was trying to do something and when my neighbor came home, she diverted their evil plan. Another note, my husband is one of those night owls and came down to get a drink of water at 3am, checked his email and he thought he heard rummaging on the side of our house. We have a boat in our driveway and if someone was messing, they would have been out of sight. He looked out but didn't see anyone, so we don't know what that was about. So someone is out there and up to no good.

SECURITY ALERT!
On Sir Barton near Coventry last week, a homeowner's neighbor noticed two boys in the front of the house across from them, possibly up to no good. They advised the homeowners and action was taken. The homeowner sought out the young boys and inquired why they were in their yard. Nothing was stolen and the boys were left with a stern warning that neighbors are watching.
This past Tuesday, a homeowner on Coventry near Princess Anne had a break-in where their laptop, a diamond engagement ring and wedding ring were stolen.
We need to keep a lookout and call the police ANYTIME there is suspicious activity. Even if you think a situation is innocent, still call in because the more information the police gather, the easier it is to catch the wrong-doers.
Call the police first, ask questions later.

H.O.P.E. Speaks &Thanksgiving Basket Brigade
Do you know anyone in need this Thanksgiving? Are you yourself in need? Or, would you like to donate money towards a Thanksgiving Basket? Let us know.
Our very own board members, Debbie Blackledge and Scott Wilson have been involved in delivering Thanksgiving dinner baskets to those in need in our community for several years now. For 13 years, Rose & Womble Realty Company has helped our neighbors in the Tidewater area during the Thanksgiving Basket Brigade. If you would like to help, please contact the league so we can put you in touch with Debbie and Scott.
The cost per basket is approx. $25.00 each and contains the following items:
Turkey
10 lbs. Potatos
5 lbs. Apples
2 boxes of stuffing
2 cans green beans
2 cans of corn
2 cans of peas
2 cans of gravy
1 can of cranberry sauce
one foil roasting pan
1 laundry hamper
This basket can easily feed 4 - 6 with left overs! The laundry hamper is a constant reminder that people care! I will try to share more stories with you in the coming weeks leading up to Thanksgiving!
